My Nails: Deborah Lippmann | Happy Birthday

I hardly blog about beauty products, but I recently found something that I absolutely adore: Deborah Lippmann’s Happy Birthday nail polish.

I stumbled upon this polish at Beauty Brands. It reminded me of OPI’s Rainbow Connection, a nail polish I’ve been craving but have yet to buy for no reason other than I haven’t seen it for sale in a store. I put it on my nails on Saturday in preparation for The Hunger Games. It didn’t transform me into the girl on fire, but it definitely made me feel like Katniss in her second interview gown.

I love the myriad bright colors; it looks like confetti from a fabulous birthday party. And the best part is that it attracts a ton of compliments. So why not bring the party to a dull Monday at the office?

It takes about three to four layers before you can achieve this look above. And after it goes on, it feels very “texturey.” In the future, I would like to try applying just a couple coats of this polish over another color, perhaps a black or deep purple polish, for a different look all together.

Now that I’ve fallen in love with this sparkle polish, I have my eye on other colors from Deborah Lippmann. From left to right, these are the colors I’m currently coveting: Mermaid’s Dream, Candy Shop, Bad Romance, Across the Universe, Boom Boom Pow, I Love The Nightlife and Stairway To Heaven. Can’t you just picture these polishes on my nails? Just fabulous.

What about you? Are you coveting any nail polishes right now? Let me know in the comments section below. I may want them, too. 🙂
